Montreal Botanical Garden in Winter
One great place to go in Montreal in the winter are the Greenhouses of the botanical Gardens. Warm and full of the smells of plants and flowers, and soon butterflies flying around, it’s a great place to renew yourself during winter. Check it out. The grounds are also nice warm winters day.
A pass for the gardens is not much if you live in Montreal and have the Access Montreal card-20.50$ plus a photo.

Summer
This week nearly all my posts of my blogs touch on summer. I think this is because Montreal is getting some great summer weather-sunshine, not humid, etc. wonderful weather. I must take some time to just soak it in. Try this yourself. See Summer De-stressing for some ideas on how to do this and relax at the same time.
L’Enchanteur
Another favourite Montreal restaurant of mine is L’Enchanteur. I has very good breakfasts-i go for breakfast, reasonably priced, a nice, funky interior, lots of natural light-a must for me-and friendly service. Check it out
My Top Ten favourite places in Montreal
So, in this post I am going to share with you my Top Five Plus Places in Montreal. Beside each I will include its category and in the future I will have Top Five lists for many of these categories. They are not in any particular order.
- The Pine/Parc Exchange-recently redone and it looks so great now I love admiring it, enjoying the beauty of its design. (Location)
- Jean Talon Farmers Market-interesting stores, the buzz of shoppers and in summer loads of stalls with produce, summer breezes and the lovely smell of fresh produce.(Place)
- The Beach at Cap St. Jaques-a nice little beach, not too crowded, great for a day of relaxing by yourself or hanging out. (Parc)
- The National Library-a wonderfully designed place with loads of books, CDs, DVDs, magazines, etc and lots of Internet access. (Place)
- Lafontaine Park-not far from downtown Montreal; large but not enormous; well used, but with places for those who like quiet. Lots of trees, benches, water and grass. (Parc)
- Lachine Canal (at Atwater Market)-Refurbished canal that has green-space running along side it. I often sit near it near the Atwater Market. Relaxing. (Place)
- The Path out to the Clock Tower in the Old Port at night-Green-space on one side, the St Lawrence on the other, benches and blue lights-a magical walk, especally with that special someone. (Old Port)
More later with other lists. Let me know your favourite Montreal places.
Favourite Montreal Restaurant
For this post I wanted to highlight one of my favourite Montreal Restaurants-Le Toasteur. The food is good, the portions are large, the service is great and the surroundings are funky.
Pine/Parc Intersection
One of my favourite places in Montreal is the Pine/Parc Intersection. One reason is because it is so much better than what was there before, which was crumbling concrete covered in grafitti that went this way and that way, up, around, down. The amount of green space it created is very nice; the amount of open space it created-I really appreciate and enjoy open space in cities, I am not quite sure why, but being in a large open space in a city feels wonderful. Also the new intersection gives you great views of Jeanne Mance Parc above it and of Parc to the south and of McGill University to the west. Also, it is nicely designed. I really enjoy approaching it by bus from above where you really get the full view of it or also walking through from above is nice to. Nice job Montreal.

Favourite Places-City Square
Another category I have decided to include on The Front Page is Favourite Places. This week the favourite place I include is from Vancouver and is called City Square, a mall located on Cambie and Broadway. The mall has a Central corridor that has a skylight above it, and loads more windows and natural light-I really like malls with mall enormous skylights-all the natural light makes being in the mall more enjoyable. And on the first floor there is a place to sit and have a coffee and enjoy all the natural light and look out the windows. I also like this part of Vancouver. Milieu Cafe is pictured below.
